Home buyers seeking the nicest active 55+ gated community with single story detached homes in San Diego, are lucky to discover Ocean Hills Country Club. This wonderful senior community has its own private golf course for residents, the most dedicated and lighted pickleball courts of any in coastal southern California and the widest variety of amenities, social clubs and social opportunities, plus free RV parking.
The first question these prospective home buyers usually ask is: “What is the membership/initiation cost – or buy in – at Ocean Hills Country Club?”
The answer is that there is no membership cost or buy in. Instead, once you become a homeowner, your monthly HOA fees cover the use of all of the amenities in the community. As of late 2025 the HOA fees ranged from approximately $650-$750 per month, depending on which village the home was located in.
Residents can even bring guests with them to enjoy the amenities – including golf – for no additional cost. There are no greens fees.
That being said, most of the social clubs in OHCC do have annual dues, mostly to cover material costs. These annual fees are nominal, usually less than $25 for the entire year.
The Sailing Club is an exception to this, in that in addition to the small annual dues, people joining individual day sails, pay for each voyage. The cost for this is less than $50 for an entire day of sailing.
The monthly Home Owners Association costs also cover a host of other benefits that homeowners love, like roof maintenance, exterior painting, front yard watering, maintenance and landscaping, premium cable TV, 24/7 gated guarded and patrolled community and more.
